Notes

'Caleb' sweet pepperbush (Clethra alnifolia 'Caleb') is a shrub for borders, pollinator gardens, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its white summer flowers are fragrant and draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer tend to browse other plants first. It also tolerates salt.

Pairs well with Red twig dogwood, Blue wild indigo, and Big bluestem.
