Notes

Red twig dogwood (Cornus sericea) is a shrub for borders, hedges, rain gardens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to wet soil of most types. Creamy-white flowers are followed by pea-sized white berries, and the bright red twigs stand out against winter snow. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Witch hazel, Switchgrass, and Paper birch.
