Notes

'Sugartina Crystalina' sweet pepperbush (Clethra alnifolia 'Sugartina Crystalina') is a shrub for borders, pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It stays dense and compact, and its fragrant white flowers open from early to late summer and again in early autumn. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the blooms. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Incrediball hydrangea, White Swan coneflower, Sensitive fern, and Northern bayberry.
