Carolina lily (Lilium michauxii) is a perennial for pollinator gardens and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes part sun or part shade and dry to moist, sandy soil. It reaches 1 to 4 feet tall and bears up to six reddish-yellow, spotted, nodding flowers with petals that curve backward. It also tolerates drought. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.
