Notes

'Center of Attention' Japanese iris (Iris ensata 'Center of Attention') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet soil. The large, ruffled, white blooms have deep violet-purple veining and dark purple signals, and bees visit them. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. The upright green leaves look much like a Siberian iris.

Pairs well with Swamp milkweed, Cinnamon fern, and Prairie dropseed.
