Notes

'Blueberry Pie' Japanese iris (Iris ensata 'Blueberry Pie') is a perennial for pond edges, bog gardens, and borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil. The velvety purple flowers have strokes of violet, blue, and yellow and bloom from early to late summer. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Mulch around the roots to hold in moisture.

Pairs well with Panicle hydrangea, White snakeroot, and Irish moss.
