Notes

'Lion King' Japanese iris (Iris ensata 'Lion King') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It blooms from early to late summer and attracts butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It also tolerates salt.

Pairs well with Scorpion spotted beebalm, Astilbe, and Alexander loosestrife.
