Notes

'Chater's Chamois' hollyhock (Alcea rosea 'Chater's Chamois') is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It grows 71 to 94 inches tall, so place it at the back of the bed. Blooms open from early to late summer and draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees.

Pairs well with Coneflower, Shasta daisy, and Rosemary.
