Notes
'Mars Magic' hollyhock (Alcea rosea 'Mars Magic') is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and most soil types. It blooms from early to late summer on tall stems. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the flowers. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.
Pairs well with Laura garden phlox, Starlight tickseed, and Blue Glitter eryngium.
