Notes

'Chaters Double Salmon' hollyhock (Alcea rosea 'Chaters Double Salmon') is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It blooms from early to late summer, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the flowers. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Give the tall stems a spot at the back of the bed.

Pairs well with Coneflower, Shasta daisy, and Rosemary.
