Notes

'Chater's Rose' hollyhock (Alcea rosea 'Chater's Rose') is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Flowers open from early to late summer on tall stems that reach about 71 to 94 inches. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Coneflower, Shasta daisy, and Rosemary.
