Notes

'Checkerboard' hardy fuchsia (Fuchsia 'Checkerboard') is a shrub for borders, containers, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist soil of most types. The single blooms are white to palest pink with bright red corollas. Hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the flowers. To increase hardiness, bury the base of the shrub 3 to 4 inches below the soil surface, as you would a rose.

Pairs well with Bluebell, Jacob’s ladder, Madrone, and Snake's head.
