Notes

'Chocolate Shogun' florist's spiraea (Astilbe thunbergii 'Chocolate Shogun') is a perennial for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, loamy, clay, or chalky soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Pink flowers open from early to late summer, and butterflies and bees visit the blooms.
