Notes

'Fanal' astilbe (Astilbe rosea 'Fanal') is a perennial for borders, shade gardens, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, loamy soil. It grows in a clumping form and attracts butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. The foliage shows brown and copper tones next to green.

Pairs well with Obsidian coral bells, Columbine, and Sensitive fern.
