Notes

Clerodendrum (Clerodendrum trichotomum) is a shrub for borders, hedges, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. White fragrant flowers open from early to late summer, and again in early to late autumn. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the blooms. It grows irregular in shape and can reach 10 to 20 feet tall and wide, so give it room.

Pairs well with Juneberry, Fountain grass, Balloon flower, and Damask rose.

Native range

Eastern Asia.
