Notes

'Contorta' flowering quince (Chaenomeles speciosa 'Contorta') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Pinkish cream to white flowers appear in spring, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit them. It also tolerates drought and salt. Deer tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Rose Glow Japanese barberry, Pink Impression tulip, Indian grass, and Cheyenne Spirit echinacea.
