Notes

'Toyo-Nishiki' flowering quince (Chaenomeles speciosa 'Toyo-Nishiki') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. White, pink, and red flowers open on the same plant in spring. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit the blooms. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Rose Glow Japanese barberry, Indian grass, and Hyssop.
