Notes

'Dalmatica' dalmatian iris (Iris pallida 'Dalmatica') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It forms a clump of tall stems with fragrant, lavender-purple flowers in spring and again in summer. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Nodding onion, Little bluestem, and Kansas peony.
