Notes

'Variegata' dalmatian iris (Iris pallida 'Variegata') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, rock gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It forms a clump of gray-green and yellow striped leaves, and the fragrant purple and blue flowers draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. It tolerates drought and salt. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Stargazer lily, and Duchesse de Nemours peony.
