Notes

'Kansas' peony (Paeonia 'Kansas') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. The large, double, fragrant blooms are bright clear red, and the color holds well. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Strong stems stand about 30 inches high.

Pairs well with Clustered bellflower, Blue Mouse Ears hosta, and Cheerfulness daffodil.
