Notes

'Dancing Wind' big bluestem (Andropogon gerardi 'Dancing Wind') is a grass for pollinator gardens, rain gardens, winter interest, and naturalized plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to wet, sandy or clay soil. It sits low on the menu for deer. It grows 54 to 66 inches tall with an arching habit and red blooms from late summer into autumn. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit it, and it tolerates drought and salt.

Pairs well with Wild bergamot, Hairy aster, and Sedge.
