Notes

'Darkest Favorite' lily (Lilium 'Darkest Favorite') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. The fragrant flowers open from early to late summer in deep tomato red with a garnet brown gloss. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit the blooms. A.J. van der Zwet & Sons bred it in 1950.

Pairs well with Anise hyssop, Little bluestem, and Shirley Temple peony.
