Notes

'Ding a Dong' dahlia (Dahlia 'Ding a Dong') is a bulb for borders, containers, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun and dry soil. The ball-shaped, double yellow blooms reach up to 4 inches wide and are edged in cherry red and orange. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Protect it from winter wet, or lift and store the bulbs in a cool, dry, frost free place.

Pairs well with Star of persia, Meadow sage, and Shenandoah switchgrass.
