Notes

Meadow sage (Salvia pratensis) is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It bears deep lavender blue flowers, and its fragrant, drought tolerant growth draws butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Blooms can appear in spring, summer, and autumn.

Pairs well with Cat mint, Gladiator ornamental onion, and Buffalo grass.
