Notes

'Doubledecker' coneflower (Echinacea purpurea 'Doubledecker') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, pollinator gardens, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Pink, two-tiered blooms open from early to late summer and draw butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds. Deer tend to browse other plants first. It grows fast and tolerates drought and salt.

Pairs well with Butterfly milkweed, Standing Ovation little bluestem, Prairie dropseed, and Indian Summer rudbeckia.
