Notes

Dragon head bamboo (Fargesia rufa) is a grass for borders, containers, hedges, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. It stays evergreen and forms an arching clump. The clump grows quickly to 6 to 10 feet tall and wide. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Karl Foerster feather reed grass, Autumn fern, and Winterberry.
