Notes

Umbrella bamboo (Fargesia robusta) is a grass for borders, hedges, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. It grows in a clump, so it stays in place and does not run. It grows slowly and stays evergreen. Plants reach 10 to 15 feet tall, which makes a good tall screen.

Pairs well with Wide Brim hosta, Green Velvet buxus, and Aureola Japanese forest grass.
