Notes

Dwarf iris (Iris danfordiae) is a bulb for borders, containers, and low maintenance spots. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. The fragrant, primrose yellow flowers have tiny dark spots on the falls and open in early to late spring. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Plants stay only 3 to 6 inches tall.

Pairs well with Autumn fern, Shasta daisy, and Gladiolus.
