Notes

Eastern pasqueflower (Pulsatilla patens) is a perennial for borders, containers, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Give it good drainage, since it may go dormant during drought. The blue-violet flowers open in spring and sit above feathery, silky seed heads. Bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Pussytoes and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
