Notes

'Empire State' tulip (Tulipa 'Empire State') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. It blooms from early to late spring on stems about 24 inches tall, with signal red flowers that have a blush, a yellow base tinged with green, and black anthers. D.W. Lefeber & Co. bred it.

Pairs well with Bridal Crown daffodil, Monsieur Jules Elie peony, and Little bluestem.
