Notes

Engelmann daisy (Engelmannia peristenia) is a perennial for borders, meadows, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average soil of most types. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Yellow flowers open in late afternoon and fold under in intense heat the next day. Birds relish the seeds.

Pairs well with Golden tickseed, Magnus coneflower, Black-eyed Susan, and Blue fescue.
