Notes
Fairy wand (Chamaelirium luteum) is a perennial for shade gardens, woodland gardens, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist soil. Its white flower spikes rise above a basal rosette of oval leaves. Male and female flowers grow on separate plants, and the male spike is feathery and curves as it ages. A winter cover of oak leaves helps it.
Pairs well with Wood lily, Western sword fern, and Lungwort.
