Notes

Farewell to spring (Clarkia amoena) is an annual for borders, containers, and annual beds. It shrugs off cool spells and light frost, though a hard freeze will damage it. This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Pink cup-shaped flowers carry a splash of bright red on each petal, and they close at night and reopen in the morning. Pinch out the central leader to encourage branching and heavy bloom. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Red fescue, Prickly poppy, and Supertunia Really Red petunia.
