Notes

Fire spinner ice plant (Delosperma sutherlandii) is a succulent for cottage gardens and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy soil. Pink and purple flowers open in early to late spring and again in early to late summer, and butterflies and bees visit the blooms. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. The low green mats stay evergreen and spread 12 to 24 inches.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Greig's tulip, and California poppy.
