Notes

'Fireball' spotted beebalm (Monarda 'Fireball') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet soil of most types. Its ruby red, fragrant flowers open in early to late summer and draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. The plant stays compact at 12 to 18 inches tall and wide.

Pairs well with Culver’s root, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Indian Summer rudbeckia.
