'First Love' dahlia (Dahlia 'First Love') is a bulb. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun and dry soil. Single apricot flowers with a yellow flush and a thin red ring around a dark-brown center bloom from summer into fall above burgundy leaves. Protect it from winter wet by lifting it and storing it in a cool, dry, frost free spot. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Meadow sage, Star of persia, Shenandoah switchgrass, and Mediterranean spurge.
