Notes

'Flame Thrower' coneflower (Echinacea 'Flame Thrower') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, cut flowers, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. The orange and yellow petals surround an orange center cone, and the blooms are fragrant. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Tall sunflower, Nodding onion, and Sedge.
