Notes

'Flamingo' boxelder (Acer negundo 'Flamingo') is a tree for pollinator gardens and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, clay soil. It grows fast and reaches 30 to 50 feet tall with an irregular shape. Greenish yellow flowers open in early to late spring and attract butterflies, bees, and birds. It is also drought tolerant.

Pairs well with Swamp white oak, Northern bayberry, Cinnamon fern, and White trillium.
