Notes

'Forty-niner' rose (Rosa 'Forty-niner') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. It grows upright to about 55 inches tall with dark green leaves. The red blend flowers are fragrant and attract bees. Herbert C. Swim bred it in 1949.

Pairs well with Lamb’s ear, Stargazer lily, and Cornflower.
