Notes
'Foxtail' Colorado spruce (Picea pungens 'Foxtail') is a tree for specimen, accent, privacy screen, and winter interest plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy or clay soil. It grows slowly into a columnar evergreen that is also drought tolerant. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Its evergreen needles keep their color all year.
Pairs well with Balsam fir, Berry Poppins winterberry, Common snowberry, and Sensitive fern.
