Notes

Colorado blue spruce (Picea pungens) is a tree for specimen planting, privacy screens, hedges, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly, stays evergreen all year, and tolerates drought and salt. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Birds visit the tree.

Pairs well with American linden, Arrowwood viburnum, Bunchberry, and Red fescue.
