Notes

'Franquette' English walnut (Juglans regia 'Franquette') is a tree for specimen use and the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. The tree has a rounded shape and makes a good shade tree for a large yard. It blooms in early to late spring, and the fragrant flowers add interest. It is also drought tolerant once settled in.

Pairs well with Sweet cherry, Red elderberry, Mount Hood daffodil, and Fire and Ice hosta.
