Notes
'Frel' strawberry (Fragaria 'Frel') is a fruit for the food garden and for use as a ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It grows 6 to 12 inches tall and wide, and pink flowers with yellow centers open in mid to late spring, again in early to late summer, and in early to mid autumn.
Pairs well with Lettuce, Purple Ruffles basil, Borage, and Autumn Fire sedum.
