Notes

Garden strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa) is a fruit for food gardens, containers, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. White to pink flowers open in early to late spring and again in early to late summer, and bees visit them. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. The leaves stay green through the year.

Pairs well with Joan J raspberry, Dill, and Cilantro.
