Notes

'Gardenia' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Gardenia') is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. White blooms with cream and light pink undertones open in spring and again in summer, and butterflies visit them. Eugene H. Lins bred it.

Pairs well with Cheerfulness daffodil, Incrediball Storm Proof smooth hydrangea, and Foxtail barley.
