Notes

'Glauca' Colorado spruce (Picea pungens 'Glauca') is a tree for specimen planting, privacy screens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It grows slowly into a columnar shape and stays evergreen all year. Birds visit it, and it tolerates drought once settled.

Pairs well with Karl Foerster feather reed grass, Midwinter Fire common dogwood, and Black-eyed Susan.
