Notes

Havard agave (Agave havardiana) is a succulent for borders, containers, and xeriscape gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Its bluish rosettes of broad, toothed leaves end in a stout spine tip, and sharp drainage keeps them healthy. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Yellow flowers rise on a tall stalk in summer, and the plant dies after it blooms.

Pairs well with Matilija poppy, Jerusalem sage, and Elfin mother of thyme.
