Notes
'Heavy Texture' hinoki cypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Heavy Texture') is a tree for specimen planting, rock gardens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows at a moderate rate into a broad evergreen, reaching 3 to 6 feet tall and 2 to 4 feet wide. Its foliage stays green all year, so it adds color to the garden in winter.
Pairs well with Green Spice coral bells, Krossa Regal hosta, and Sedge.
