Notes

'HGC Merlin' Lenten rose (Helleborus ballardiae 'HGC Merlin') is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun and average to moist, loamy, clay, or chalky soil. It stays evergreen, so the leaves give color all year. Blooms open from winter into spring. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Common snowdrop, Caramel coral bells, and Siberian bugloss.
