'Honeyhill Joy' Lenten rose (Helleborus nigercors 'Honeyhill Joy') is a perennial for borders and containers, and it needs little care. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy, clay, or chalky soil. Large white blooms with cream centers face outward and turn green as they age. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. The evergreen leaves are shiny, blue-green, and serrated.
